It’s the perfect time to welcome new energy, new blessings, new life! It’s time for a fire cleansing ritual! Things have died and fallen.
But just because something has ended doesn’t mean it wasn’t fantastic! Think of a flower: it’s beautiful and amazing! AND when it's time it dies.
As we come into this season with a new moon, Imbolc, and the celebration of the Chinese New Year there's a powerful alignment for clearing things out and beginning to welcome a young spring energy for renewal.
How many things have already run their course in your life?
Think about even the things that went well and had ended their cycle. This weekend you have a great chance to honor those things, let it go, cleanse the space, and create room for what’s to come for you!
So watch today’s video and join me in a simple fire ritual. Through the fire we make a physical acknowledgement of letting things go! We get to honor the cycle of life, the wisdom that is there for us, and burn away the dead so we can have a fertile place to begin again.
How to Do Your Own Fire Cleansing Ritual At Home
If you’re doing your fire ritual indoors remember: SAFETY FIRST!
There’s really no one “right way” to do this ritual, but you can watch how I do mine at home in this little behind the scenes here. I basically follow this steps:
Find a fire proof container to start your fire.
Collect the things you’d like to bring into the ritual: It can be dead flowers from your past altars, pages of an old journal, feelings you have written on a leaf or paper… Any physical representation of that which you wish to acknowledge and let go.
Light the fire and become fully present of the flames. Part of the practice is in watching it transform, here is where the letting go process occurs. Get immersed into the light, the colors, the sound, the smell, and be open to receive.
Take the ashes from the fire and return them to the Earth as a way to nourish the seeds/intentions that you’re planting with this New Moon.
