Is Meditation Like Taking Horrible Tasting Medicine (or like taking your vitamins)? You Do It But Don’t Really Like It?
How To Reap The Benefits Of Meditation Without Shutting Your Mind Off
If you are having an unpleasant experience with meditation, you feel bad you can’t sit still, or it just doesn’t make sense to you to sit there doing nothing, and no matter how long you try your mind just keeps racing…Well, you’re not alone.
Many people come to me saying it is hard to meditate or it just doesn’t work for them. If this is your experience too, I got good news, don't desist! You can still reap the benefits of meditation without having to struggle to stay still and quiet your mind. You just need to be willing to try something new and reframe your idea of what meditation is.
The truth is that when most people think about meditation they’re thinking about quieting their mind or sitting still or some other type of Zen inspired practice which can be very hard for someone who’s hooked on our fast-going- productivity driven society. I find that this framework leads many people to be frustrated with their meditation practice! The style of practice doesn’t match what can truly work for them!
Check out today’s video to learn more about what other options are available for you, how you can turn the activities that already make you feel harmony into a meditation practice and why energy based practices are my personal favorite and something that can be much more effective for you.
